Kinda preoccupied
My, but it has been a long time since we visited blogland. Happy (belated) Christmas to you. I hope that you had a good one - we certainly did :-)
The long absence from blogging coincided with a long absence from running - sometime in late November we decided to completely renovate the family room, kitchen, lounge and study. What's more, we decided to have it finished before hosting tiger angel's family on Christmas day. That translated into 6am to 1am working on the house, 7 days a week (with a small break for work in the middle each day - think of it as a recovery period :-) ) for pretty much all of December. Alas, running - like all other happy distractions - had to take a back seat.
Still, we finished late on Saturday night, meaning that we were able to spend Christmas eve (TA's birthday) shopping for her birthday present and preparing for the onslaught of the rellos - and, in my case, doing one and a half laps of Quarry Rd. Apart from one 24k run with the Strider's 6ft training group, that was my first run since the Central Coast half. That's a long time between drinks, but I was glad to see that everything was still apparently functioning OK.
That one was followed up on boxing day with a 1 hour run up to the top of a mountain and back near my sister's in Newcastle. Unfortunately I didn't pack the Garmin in the rush, so I don't have good details... I was supposed to run today, but got engrossed in doing absolutely nothing for the first time in a month, so I never got around to it. Ah well, there's always tomorrow... :-)

Gee - no wonder you've been a bit quiet!
Glad you got it finished in time.
Glad you're enjoying your time off B - you deserve it after a great year!
Oh, and a happy birthday to Angel :)
Oh, to be able to just go and do Quarry Road after that much time 'cross training'. All the best to you both for 2007. Might see you in March.
