One month on

It is one month to the day since I last ran. This is not a good thing.

Nothing really to report. Nothing much has changed over the week. Sometimes I think it's improving, then I realise it isn't. Ah well. Maybe next week...

'Tough situations don't last. Tough people do.'

You left that comment for me on what was probably my darkest day in 2006. It has always stayed with. Your persistence, determination & spirit will see you through this tough situation cause you are one tough fella :-)

Hi Gnome,

Hadn't seen you for quite a while at Run Club so I thought I'd check out your blog to see how you were. Ouch! I'm really sorry to hear (and see) what's happened to your back.

Can completely understand your frustrations at not being able to exercise. Take care - hope your recovery is a swift one.

Cheers,

KSL

Gnome,

This situation sucks. It really, really sucks.

I wish you the speediest recovery possible, my friend.

Cheers,
Ben

bugger. that totally sucks. But as Jen says I can't think of anyone better equipped to get through it with your ever present humour and determination. Sending lots of good vibes for a very speedy recovery :)

Sorry I didn't get a chance to speak to you yesterday and thanks for the starting duties!

Hold on in there and you'll be back.

Hang in there Bruce. It must be frustrating, but in time, you'll be back. Best wishes.

Sorry, sfg, due to problems with the new blogger (or my ignorance anyway) I've only just read about what's been happening for you lately. I'm SO,SO sorry! Best wishes mate and take care of yourself. Plus what Jen said!

You're right, it isn't a good thing :-( But, you will be back, I know you will.

Its no doubt a totally different back injury but my ex boss who started me running back in the early 80s was told the same thing as you were. He still managed to squeeze in about another 20 years of running (including several marathons) and now is 'limited' to two hour walks up Mt Coot-tha every day.

Meanwhile I am going to use you as my inspiration. I have never ever ever seen anyone so positive about such a negative situation.

Thanks so much for the great work with the photos.

Take care.

You're right, that's not a good thing - but it's better than a bad thing or even a worse thing!

Take heart....you have "time" on your side!
